Preschool Graduation

We had the honor yesterday of attending Emily's preschool graduation. I still am in awe that the year is over. I started the year big and pregnant and yesterday I held Miss Cecelia on my lap while Daddy let her try some of his ice cream. It's so hard to imagine that nine months have flown by.

Let me be the first to say that I really didn't want to send Em to preschool. I wanted to keep her home with me another year and send her to Kindergarten. Then, I met her teacher. Mrs. Sharon is about the same age as my mother and is one of those people who just belongs doing what she is doing. I am a former preschool teacher, so I can attest to the highs and lows of the job, but Mrs. Sharon always seems to be having a high day. She is wonderful and we are so blessed to know her. I actually contemplated sending Elle to nursery school just so we could have Mrs. Sharon in our lives three years in a row.

Anyway...back to graduation....The kids sang quite a few new songs for us and then walked across the "bridge" and got their certificate while they all told us what they wanted to be when they got bigger. Emily walked across and said she is going to be an artist. Last week she was telling me she was going to be a bride then a mommy. Maybe that means I will get to watch my grandkids while she goes to work. Hey. I like that idea!!!! We sat and had ice cream and visited with the families in the class. Its bittersweet. I like that Mrs. Sharon gave a list of all the parents numbers so we can still schedule playdates. And I KNOW I will be seeing some of the parents around (right Kim??? Monday morning baby!!!)

I am so proud of the little lady Emily has grown into over the last 9 months. She is growing by leaps and bounds (2.5 inches since Sept actually) and has learned so many new things and made so many new friends. What a great start to a lifetime of learning.

Up North

This past weekend we spent a nice relaxing time at the cabin. I love going up there. I love that Jay loves going up there. I love even more that the girls have a great appreciation for the place. My grandfather has owned that particular cabin since 1979. When he bought it, it was a small place with a bunk room, a kitchen and a living room. I think if I recall there was a small bedroom and one tiny bathroom. In 1987, he added on twice and then some. Now it's a 3,000 sq ft "hunting lodge" as he calls it and its loads of fun. Its situated on 200 acres in Long Rapids, Mi, about 20 miles from Alpena. The best part about the whole thing is that my dad's father owns it, but it's located within 20 miles of my mom's whole family. So, when we visit the cabin, we also get to spend time with my mom's family. It's awesome!

Since it was a long cold winter, none of my aunts on my mom's side had met Cecelia. They were pretty excited to see her and she aimed to please. She was just awesome. She was full of smiles and lots of giggles and grins for everyone. We visited with my mom's sister, my Aunt Rita and Uncle Merle and even stopped in to see my Aunt Barb who was married to my mom's brother, my Godfather, Uncle Paulie who died 3 days before Cecelia arrived. My Dad calls Cecelia Paul's replacement and I told my Aunt Barb so and she said its amazing that she has his dark hair and bright blue eyes. I think a little piece of him lives on in her. I just hope she doesn't have his crazy Darga blood in her. Haha!

The girls went up on Thursday with my mom and dad. Jay worked Thursday and Friday and we left as soon as he got home Saturday morning. What a nice drive up we had in the new van! Woot! We got there and had lunch and visited with Aunt Rita and Jenny (my cousin) Saturday night we had a bonfire and roasted dogs and marshmallows. Sunday we went out to Aunt Rita's to see her and Uncle Merle, had some time in the woods on the four wheelers and golf carts, and went to Alpena to play at the park. Monday we went to Rogers City to play at the park and stopped in to see Aunt Barb. I had to cry a little cause the last time I was at her house was when Uncle Paulie was still alive. I miss him a little everyday and wish so much that I could have been at the funeral. Cecelia had other plans for me, though. :)

The coolest thing ever. Jay was working out by his deer blind on Sunday, planting his food plot and cleaning a few things when he heard rustling in the woods. Ended up being a brand new baby fawn. Umbilical cord was still attached. He took soem great pics of him and set him free. I was sad that the girls and I missed it. I am pretty sure that was a once in a lifetime thing.

Thats all I got tonight. It was a beautiful weekend and one that I can't wait to repeat sometime this summer. I only hope the mosquitoes are fewer. Ugh.

What a month

This month has been a whirlwind. I can't even imagine we are fast approaching JUNE! When did that happen? We are also fast approaching my birthday! Yikes! 28? When did THAT happen? Yesterday we celebrated Jay's 33rd bithday! We met when he was 23 and I was 18. We've done a lot in 10 years thats for sure. We had a nice lunch at Don Pablos (the girls picked cause they know Daddy LOVES it) complete with a sopapilla (sp?) for dessert and a round of singing from the staff. The girls were so excited and Mommy could have inhaled that whole dessert- if you've never had one, you don't know what you are missing.

I've been trying to get things in order around the house for an upcoming garage sale. I have so much stuff to get rid of its hard to decide where to begin. I think I am going to ship the big girls off to my moms for the weekend so they don't see all their old toys disappearing. They are already having a fit when they haven't looked at them in years. Our house has become overtaken by toys and it needs to stop!

We got a new van! Finally! I think that God was on my side cause Jay kept telling me that once we re-fi'ed the house we would get a van. I kid you not, we signed the papers on Tuesday and Thursday Jay went to start his car and it was D-E-A-D! So, he looked at me and told me that we'd have to go look. The next week, we drove out of MEadowbrook Dodge in our brand new Dodge Grand Caravan. Man, she's a beauty. Sunburst orange and room galore. Love it! Thanks, hubby, for the new wheels. (Note...in 17 years of driving this is Jay's FIRST brand new car- I'd like to think that he deserves it :) )

The gym has taken a bit of a backseat, though I hate to admit it. I WILL get back June 1st and by September I will meet my first big goal. With dance and school and garage sales and vacation and everything else, though not an excuse, its just been hard. Today though is the last day of preschool as we know it (for two years anyway) and then comes the big Kindergarten! Wowzers. So come Monday I will be at the gym by 11 am with three girls in tow. I CAN DO THIS!

I guess I am going to break this up into a few good entries. DOn't want to write a novel. I have a dance recital, a trip up north and an almost 8 month birthday to blog about.

Special Person of the day

Emily was special person of the day at school today. She celebrated her summer birthday since she won't be in school. What a character. We went to Kroger this morning before school and she picked out cookies with PINK frosting, picked out her PINK dress to wear today, took her PINK Webkinz in for show and tell and was bummed because there wasn't a PINK hat for her to pick out. The kid is a little obsessed with PINK, ya think? I was so proud of her today. She wrote all three clues for her show and tell by herself and was prouder than a peacock walking into school carrying her PINK bag with her show and tell inside. She said she had a "great day. Especially when everyone sang to her." I am just glad that I have a few more months until my first born turns five. I get teary thinking about it.

Last Dance

Elizabeth had her last dance class of the session on Tuesday. My mom and dad came to watch cause Busia thought it was only right since everyone is coming to watch Emily's recital. Unfortunately, Elizabeth was a little too young to get into the recital class, but maybe next year if she continues to want to dance, then she will do the recital. This is the posed picture that Emily set the back drop up for. Cracks me up. You wouldn't think that Mommy takes any posed pictures by the way they are starting to set up their own back drops and pose themselves. lol

I wanna rock and roll all night....

I think this classifies as my favorite new picture of Cecelia. How freaking cute is she? My sister got her this KISS onsie for Christmas, and I found her the flame baby legs and flaming guitar shoes. I am pretty sure there is not a baby cuter in the tri county area!

Burning up the credit card

I have seriously wanted a Baby Hawk (www.babyhawk.com) since Elle was itty bitty. I seriously couldn't justify the money, though. I have adoringly flipped thru the fabric choices again and again wanting so badly to order one. When I got pregnant with Cecelia I told Jay that one day I was just gonna order one and be done with it. Well, Cecelia is 7 months today and I finally did it! I will have my custom made brand new Baby Hawk in 10-14 days. I bet you know where I will be in 10-14 days. You're right! I will be stalking the UPS guy. This thing is beautiful! I can't wait! I figure with all the camping and whatnot we plan to do this summer, Cecelia will be more than happy going along for a ride on my back. Yeah sure, $92.50 can buy a whole lotta food for the family and shoes for the girls and more summer clothes and paint for the house......the list goes on and on, but every once in a great while I deserve something for me dang it!

Webkinz

Man. I have been MIA for a whole week and I can tell you why! WEBKINZ! (www.webkinz.com) Last week was a Webkinz Day Extravaganza and I went nuts! Between the girls and I we have nine Webkinz pets now. We have each signed up one of our three on the website and I have been addicted to the games. I can't get enough Cash Cow. lol. I never knew how fun they were. Now, I put the kids to bed and I stay up and play my games. I keep telling Jay that they are good for my memory and I am building myself a smart brain. Haha! Hey, I could be addicted to worse things, huh? And my house is clean and my kids are happy. What more could I ask for?:)

If I do nothing else on Saturday, I am hitting the gym. I've been away for a bit, but we have been getting ready for an appraisal (today) that hopefully turns into a refinance by the end of next week. Keep your fingers crossed. In this market, who knows whats gonna happen. YIKES.
