The Gym

I did it! The unthinkable. The thing I swore I would never do. The thing that was supposed to cost me so much money that I wouldn't be able to afford it. I JOINED A GYM! And let me just say how much I love it. My friend, Kim, was telling me one time about how little she pays for her gym membership. I called and scheduled a tour and signed up on the spot. I go to World Gym and LOVE IT! They have a kid club that the big girls adore (and Cecelia doesn't know better yet.) I have a really hard time leaving her behind, but the girls in there are great and Em and Elle keep an eye out for their baby sister. Plus, I am in the building should they need me.

I went for my orientation and have to admit that I was a little overwhelmed, but I went back two days later and got to work on the machines. I am so pleased with myself. I do an hour every time I go and truthfully that hour goes by so fast. I went today by myself. Dropped EM off at school and headed out. Daddy enjoyed a little time with Elle and Ce and Mommy enjoyed a little "me" time. I lasted 10 whole minutes on the elliptical. Thats the hardest thing there for me. It kicks my butt. Its a good kicking though. LOL

I can do this. I will do this. I HAVE to do this. For myself. For my family. I will be fit and in shape and lose a whole lotta this jiggle. Off to bed. We are gonna be at the gym by 11 am tomorrow.

Happy Easter

What a blessed day we had for Easter! After celebrating a little on Saturday for Elle's b-day, we woke up early in the morning on Sunday to Emily whispering that Easter Bunny had left eggs all over her floor. :) I told her to get a few and we shared some jelly beans first thing in the morning. The girls and Jay found their baskets and picked up eggs. I made breakfast and we got ready for church. Church was amazingly packed. We got there 20 minutes before mass started and still ended up in the "nose bleed" section. It was so wonderful to see all the people there. The girls of course were so well behaved and sat like little angels reading their new Bibles that Easter Bunny brought them.

After church we headed to Jay's parents and had an Easter lunch with his parents and his brother, sister in law and our nephew. What a great time we had hanging out with the family. I especially enjoyed it cause Cecelia slept 90% of the time we were there and I got to spend the entire time with our nephew, feeding him, playing with him and talking to him. I waited so very long to have a nephew or niece to spoil, it's so nice to get to spend quality time with him. I love it! I love him!

After Jay's parents, we headed to my grandpa's and had another dinner with my entire family. I think there were probably 30 or 40 of us there. We spent a lot of time catching up with family and enjoying their company. The girls hunted for baskets from Auntie Lisa and Auntie Laura. THen they ran around like mad with their little cousins Adam and Austin. My cousin Duane's wife was pregnant and due a week after I was with Elizabeth. We shared a lot of our pregnancies. Elle decided to come 2.5 weeks early and Austin was a week late, so they are almost exactly a month apart. It was so fun to see them play. Throw in all the sugar and it was utter madness.

We got home and the girls crashed pretty fast. They watched the first 10 minutes of The Bee Movie and were out cold. Now I am still digging out from all the candy filled eggs and gifts and baskets and toys....Eventually I will have the house back in order. Tomorrow we are headed to the gym at 11am. I signed up yesterday and tomorrow is my orientation. The girls will hang out in childwatch and I will spend an hour getting to know the machines. I can't wait. Again. I am going to lose this stubborn weight. Watch me go!

What a happy birthday party

Saturday we celebrated Miss Elizabeth's 3rd birthday with the family. What a great day! Jay and I decided that we wanted a Polish feast, since we did a Mexican fiesta for her 2nd birthday (Dora themed per her request) and Emily's last birthday was Italian food. Polish food it was. I made kielbasa, golabkis, pierogis and my mom made kluski and kapusta for us since I have never made it before. YUMMY! Elle's cake was a cupcake tower per her request again and we had three kinds of ice cream and mini cheesecakes that Auntie Lisa made. Super yummy food for sure.

The theme this year was Ariel the Little Mermaid. I pick the theme for the first birthday and after that they get to pick whatever they want. Since last August when we were at Party City picking Em's stuff, Elle has wanted Little Mermaid and so it was. What fun!

She got so many nice gifts. Busia and Dziaz gave her money, Grandpa and Grandma gave her a doll, Auntie Lisa and Uncle Rob got her dance stuff and a Leapster game, Auntie Laura and Donovan got her a hot girl jacket and money, Uncle Jerry, Aunt Lynn and Luke got her some Ponyville houses and a Pony phone, Uncle Leon, Aunt Jaylene and Lucias sent a card and made a deposit in her Charles Schwabb account and from Mommy, Daddy, Em and Cecelia she got her Leapster, a game for it and 101 Dalmatians on dvd.

We ate a lot, played a lot and all around enjoyed each other's company. What a great day we had. Afterwards Jay and I reminisced and talked about all the memories and about how much we love being parents. We really do. If money were no object, I would have no problem having a few more- Hell, who am I kidding? If they were all as easy as the three we have, I'd have no problem having 8 or 10....but who wants to finance that for me???

Girl talk

This morning I was laying in bed finishing up nursing Cecelia. She was almost alseep. Elle was snuggled in next to me with her leg thrown over my body and I was revelling in the love. All of a sudden I felt someone at my feet. I thought it was the cat, but to my surprise it was Em. Jay was already home and in bed, so there really wasn't a whole lotta room (I keep telling him we NEED that king size bed.) I told Em to meet me in her bed.

I unlatched Cecelia and left her sleeping in the crib we have side carred on the bed and joined Emily in her bed. Mind you it was 6:27 am so I assumed that I would snuggle in for a minute and she would go back to bed. Ha! I was wrong. She and I laid in bed until 8am laughing and talking and tickling. It has to be one of my most favorite moments in the last month. It amazes me that I was so tired, yet I had no interest in sleeping because I was having totally uninterupted time with my Em and I wouldn't have had it any other way. What a great way to wake up in the morning- even at 6:30! :)

Time flies when you are having fun

My kids' birthdays are so bittersweet. I am beyond thrilled to see them growing and learning and changing and getting a little more independent. At the same time, I cry every birthday. Just a little. It's so hard to imagine how fast time is going by. Why is that? Why can't we just hit the pause button of life and cherish the time for just a little longer?

Today my sweet Elizabeth turns three. Three? Yes. Three. I can't imagine that three years ago today we were visiting her in the special care nursery. She was born in the wee hours of the morning. Infact, I thought for sure her birthday was going to be the day before. By four int he afternoon they were rushing her off to the special care nursery for an increased breathing rate. She ended up spending four LONG days there. While the nurses were wonderful, it was by far the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with in my whole life. She was FINE, but needed to be monitored. Wow. I never want to go thru that again.

And while I KNOW I doted on Elle a little extra in the beginning and was afraid to leave her and didn't give her her first bottle for months after she came home from the hospital for fear of nipple confusion and was way more overprotective of her than even Em, my first born, she has sure proved that she wasn't the least bit affected by that. She is one strong and independent little lady. Dear Lord. She is just plain in control. LOL. She never gives in and is so strong willed its scary. She is totally into figuring things out by herself and can go from sweet and calm one second to a full out tantrum kicking and screaming the next. Just ask her Busia cause even she knows how those tantrums work. Haha! I think we are getting past them (and I knock very hard on wood when I say that) You just have to step lightly sometimes with Elizabeth and choose your battles.

On the other hand, I am not sure out of the three of them, not one is more caring and snuggly and compassionate than Elle. I have very loving kids, but Elle takes the cake. She snuggles with anyone who will let her and LOVES to sleep in our bed and snuggles right in like a little mouse. It melts my heart to see her snuggled in with Cecelia and taking such wonderful care of her. I was so worried about her adjusting to the big sister role, but my goodness, she has put all my fears to rest.

Happy Birthday Sweet Elle Bop-a-Roni. We all love you more than you ever will know.

Spring Cleaning

What beautiful weather today, huh? Man. I had the furnace off and every window open. It was gorgeous. I got the sudden itch to clean. I couldn't stop cleaning. I started with the bedrooms upstairs. Jay set up the shelf we bought for the girls' room. It's one of those Target cubicle ones with the "drawers" that go in it. It's awesome! Now every pony and Barbie and Ponyville piece, and Barbie's little sister has a place. I love the organization! I got some drawers cleaned out in our room and did a thorough vacuuming job. Tomorrow I would love to attack the walls in the bedrooms with some hot water and vinegar and do the bathroom. Then, I will move onto level two and do the kitchen and family room. Then level three and hit the living room and toy area. Sunday I will take a break and Monday will be my day of rest. Tuesday I will hit the final level-the basement- and that might take an eternity. Ugh. I HATE the basement. I am on a mission to clear out 1/3 of the stuff we have in the basement. I will either sell it, throw it or donate it. Perfect timing, too. Elle's birthday party is in one week from tomorrow. Ever since I was pregnant with her, spring cleaning has been a BIG deal to me. It started out as nesting in 2005 and every year it continues to make my house immaculate in time for her birthday shin dig. I love it! Look out world! I am spring cleaning!

Bathing suit.....check

Got me a new suit today. It fits. It looks nice. Its not my fave, but it'll do. Whats up with really low cut bottoms and REALLY dippy tops? I mean, c'mon. I like to show off the twins a little, but when there is nothing there to cover them with, thats just plain wrong. I am going to a family waterpark for goodness sakes. And the girls, God bless them, were picking out the skimpiest bathing suits at the store and telling me I should get "this one." Umm....no. They picked out a nice purple two piece for Daddy (cause it's his favorite color, you know) and a blue string bikini for Dziaz (cause you know Dziaz REALLY likes blue.) Oh yeah- take those girls shopping and my husband and my dad would come out looking REALLY cute. They are hillarious.

Now I am trying to get the house in order before we leave. Tomorrow is school and shelf building. (the girls are getting a new shelf in their room to organize a bit) and then the regualr daily stuff. Saturday I would love to get Jay up early to hang with the girls so I can hit up a Mom to Mom- my first one of the year. We'll see how that goes. Sunday we are off...bright and early. I can't wait. The girls have been asking for weeks when it will be time to go to Splash Village. The time is now. Thank goodness! We need a night away!

I talked to my parents tonight. They made it to Denver safe and sound. My mom is loving up on Baby Lucias. I only wish that I could have went as a stow-a-way in their luggage cause I miss that little booger. I reminded my mom to take lots of pictures and to snuggle him a little extra for me.

Thats all for today. I have a few loads of laundry to fold.......

Two days in a row?

Aren't you lucky? The bad thing is, I have nothing to say today. We had a super day. Busy, but fun. We took Em to school and then hit Target and Meijer for Splash Village essentials and a new shelf for the big girls' room. I tried on a bathing suit at Target, but Jay said it was an ugly print, so the girls and I are heading to Kohl's tomorrow to check out whats there. The best part was that I really didn't look so much like a beached whale as I thought I might have. I will admit that I have some work to do before June, but not as bad as I thought. ANd the coolest thing is that it seems that little skirt bathing suits are in now cause that is all they had. I am kinda excited. :)

The girls tried on their new suits today. I got theirs last year at the end of the season. They are super duper cute! And Cecelia got a new bikini at Target today. Dear Lord. Is there anything cuter than a pudgie baby in a bikini?? She thought it was the funniest thing. The girls were making her laugh so hard. I'm not talking little baby giggles, but full out belly laughs. I was laughing so hard it hurt. I was wiping tears from my eyes and trying to hold onto her. It was just plain funny. Its moment like that that make me realize why I love being a mommy. Sometimes after all the poopy diapers, the tantrums, the spills, the screams, the fighting, the accidents, etc, etc, etc, its nice to have a simple moment like laughter and giggles to make the day brighter. :)

Here I go again

Geez Louise. You'd think I went on a great big vacation somewhere. I WISH that was the case. Nope. Just extra busy over in our neck of the woods. I have been trying to get some early spring cleaning done. Man, there is a lot to do. I always try and have it done in time for Elle's birthday party but.....yeah- thats a week and a half away and it ain't happening. I can't say that we have done a whole lot of productive stuff, but we have done a lot of stuff.

My weightloss journey still looms. I have been a little off for the past few weeks, but I walked yesterday with a friend and it felt great! Then I spent an hour and a half at Pump It Up with the girls. Man, that is a workout in itself. I am still contemplating joining a gym, but am afraid to dish out a lotta money and waste it. I think that might be better motivation for me.

The girls are great. Miss Cecelia decided she no longer wants to take a bottle. She stayed with Busia last night for a few hours and refused the bottle. Great. Just great. I love her and I love nursing her, but I like to know that if I have to leave her I can. No such luck right now. We are gonna have to work on that and fast!

Elle Bop started her first dance class tonight. She did GREAT! She talked the whole way there about how excited she was to be a ballerina. The toughest part was explaining to Em that she had to sit outside the classroom and wait for Elle and wasn't able to go in and dance. That was HARD!

Em didn't have school yesterday, but instead had the Pump It Up field trip. It was a hoot watching her play and interact with all her little preschool friends. She barely wanted to hang with me and Elle. It's just proof positive how she is growing and needing me just a little less and it kinda makes me wanna cry.

Thats all I got tonight. Not a whole lot. The girls are hopefully sleeping upstairs. I know CeBop finally is. She and I were snuggled in watching Law and Order. Now she is sleeping on my chair and here I sit. We've got a busy day tomorrow. Em has school and then Jay and I and the little girls are hitting Target for some supplies for Splash Village and hopefully finding me a bathing suit for the trip. Otherwise I will have to wear my stretched out maternity one cause thats all I have. Thats about ridiculous, huh?
